The curved contrabass clarinet is pitched one octave lower than the bass clarinet and is the true bass of the clarinet family.
Model 340 features even response and uniform intonation throughout all registers and has a deep, rich, solid tone quality that gives a strong fundamental foundation to the concert/symphonic band and clarinet choir.
Its dynamic range is astounding, from the lightest whisper of tone to fortissimo. Hand positions are natural and relaxed. Built entirely of nickel silver, model 340 is completely free from any changes in tuning or response due to atmospheric conditions.
